The Community Health Alliance of Pasadena is formed from community efforts to begin planning for service delivery to underserved residents in Northwest Pasadena.
1998
ChapCare begins offering primary care medical services at its first clinic on Fair Oaks Ave., adjacent to the Pasadena Public Health Department.
2001
First Dental clinic opens at Fair Oaks location
2004
ChapCare is recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center
2007
Started use of OCHIN system for maintaining Electronic Health Records
2009
Opens 2nd clinic on Lake Ave. and Woodbury Street in Pasadena
2010
Began offering Behavioral Health services
ChapCare opens its 3rd clinic on Del Mar Boulevard in Southeast Pasadena to serve a larger portion of the city.
2013
Decision is made to move beyond Pasadena and open its 4th clinic on Vacco Street in South El Monte, and expand into the San Gabriel Valley
2014
Further expansion into the San Gabriel Valley with a 5th clinic opening on Garvey Avenue in El Monte
2015
Optometry services begin
2016
ChapCare opens its 6th location, and 2nd in Northwest Pasadena, on Lincoln Ave.
2018
ChapCare begins offering Substance Use services
2020
Through a generous donation from Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, the Lake Avenue clinic relocates 3 blocks south and is named the Kathryn Barger Health Center, on the southwest corner of Elizabeth Street.
2021
Recognizing the need to assist with COVID vaccinations, a temporary clinic is set up in the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Center
2023
ChapCare celebrates 25 years of caring for the San Gabriel Valley, keeping people healthy and communities strong.
